I'm With Coco
Where did the week go? Ever time I sit down to write something I get totally engrossed in everything else but writing. Me + Photoshop + Dreamweaver = Zero Blog entries. Anyway, I'll hit a couple of artists that I have been meaning to write about soon. In other news I've been totally engrossed with the NBC Late Nite battle that seems to be going on.
And it's great to see the people involved, like illustrator Mike Mitchell. He (kinda) did the same thing with a Conan O'Brien image that Shepard Fairey did with the now famous picture of Obama. I don't think the process is the same (hence it's "kinda" earlier, I'm clearly not an illustrator so I really don't know) but it has the same great pop culture in the moment feel.

I think it's really great. That's the wonderful power of media/internet/people. I haven't heard a thing from the Leno fans (not that I'm really listening) about what's going on. Whatever happens it will be interesting to see the fallout of it all. I believe if there was more time, Conan could really tap into the media outlet that he seems to command and really make a presence to save/keep? his job, but a) this isn't really important, after all it's tv (he's going to get gobs of money anyway, or so they say...) and b) he really doesn't have the time, apparently he's off the air on Friday.
But it's really cool the way people...anyone really...illustrators, photographers, designers, people in business and marketing... ect.. can really tap into the now moments. Like all the rallies for Haiti. My football club is helping Haiti. And Mike Mitchell is donating a dollar to Planting Peace.org for every now-moment-i'm-with-coco-shirt. There is a lot of hope out there.
Maybe a tune tomorrow?
Perhaps.
See you then.
