Music Friday: Grizzly Bear Acappella + Simeon ten Holt

So I missed out on the whole Grizzly Bear phenomena that swept through. Although my friend Nate told me to check them out eons ago I never really picked up their sound. Then on igif posted an acappella cover of the song and I totally dig it.

igif has this to say about it:

In addition to the two songs we posted the other day, Levek has a pretty great arsenal of covers at his YouTube page including this fantastic a cappella cover of "Shift," a track from Grizzly Bear's Friend EP (originally recorded for the entirely Ed Droste produced debut Horn Of Plenty). The cover pairs pitch-perfect vocals with footage from an unnamed Disney movie-- pretty much the coolest video I've seen in a while.

Yup, it's pretty cool. I dig the track and it might be the catalysis that get's me into the whole Grizzly Bear thing. Who knows. Stay tuned to find out. I mean if Lady Beyonce and Master Jay-Z are fans, Grizzly Bear must be the ultimate uniter when it comes to music. I'm all down with great collaborations. Obviously if I listen to simeon ten Holt, which btw, if you don't know about that, you should check it out...one word...FANTASTIC.

Have a good weekend.

Be safe out there.
